Nuclear Cyclops

This is another old painting I am enjoying revisiting to put into this new art blog.

Nuclear Cylops was another one of my usual vivid visions, that came to my minds eye while out walking in the grim area that I lived. Strangely it was while out walking past a local police station at the time & it was a lovely sunny day. There was a secret pond hidden away behind the police station that would fill up with all manner of industrial toxins which may have inspired the painting, now looking back. Also what’s so strange is that when the visions come to me, it’s usually like seeing into alternative dimensions or realms of existence.

I hope that is through my writings of this blog, it will inspire people into finding a way through the darkness in life by using the power of the minds eye to get through it. I see that so many people are able to flourish and lead such amazing lives of wonder and light without having to escape into that inner light inside. But for others like myself we are often unable to function like most people and both ourselves and the various systems prevent us from living like most people do. I don’t desire pity for it’s a great thing to embrace being able to enjoy the pleasures that are often free, and good health.

So I cannot despair for there is more to life and I have been able to utilise my third eye to travel to many different places. Some may say that I just have a vivid visual imagination but that is exactly the way to explore that inner divine light inside.

The vivid visions that I experience in any given situation feels like a spark of inspiration & it’s like walking through an infinite art gallery to await to see what new painting will come into my minds eye next. You also have to have a child like perspective of life with a reluctance to grow up and conform to a world that often condemns the dreamer or visionary thinker.

The visions are often a fusion of everything that I see around me which then becomes infused with otherworldly realms, it is such a mystical experience.

Every experience no matter how gloomy can invoke a desire to travel to distant realms to uncover paradise's or hellscapes.

So while creating this large square meter acrylic painting I enjoyed exploring the marks and textures with strong contrasting colours.

The artwork portrays a new realm of primitive yet intellectually advanced beings—mutant cyclopses—who possess a single, all-seeing eye. These beings symbolize the dichotomy of wisdom and helplessness, as they are capable of profound thought but lack the physical capability to perform tasks due to their limbless forms. Inside their brains exists an entire cosmos that contains millions of existences & realms. They could even be imaging you.

The central figures, with their single, large eye, dominate the composition. These beings are depicted in various states of immersion in the surrounding water, suggesting a symbiotic relationship with their environment. The eye represents not only physical vision but also insight and awareness, indicating their heightened perceptive abilities.

The watery landscape reflects the cyclopses, creating a sense of duality and introspection. The water can be interpreted as a symbol of the subconscious, a realm of deep thought and hidden knowledge. The reflections add to the mystical quality of the piece, suggesting a connection between the seen and unseen worlds. Also the feelings of feeling submerged in the thick goopy liquids like a toxic swamp invoke calm but unsettling experiences of feeling stuck. You can almost see a link with this painting and both the hermit & hanged man Tarot cards in that both share the same visual compositions.

The background features lush, green hills and trees, contrasted with an eerie, glowing sky. These elements create a juxtaposition between the natural world and the unnatural existence of the cyclopses, emphasizing their place in a post-apocalyptic, mutated landscape.

The presence of objects such as a can labeled "BAKED BEANS" and another labeled "PRAYER" in the water introduces themes of survival and spirituality. These objects hint at remnants of human civilization and the enduring need for sustenance and faith in this new realm.

This artwork captures a vision of a future heterotopia, where life persists and evolves amidst the ruins of human civilization. It speaks to the resilience of nature and the adaptability of life forms in the face of apocalyptic destruction. The piece also explores the distortion of sexuality and identity through genetic interference and abnormal science experiments, presenting a complex and layered narrative of rebirth and mutation.
