The fools new look & twisted voyage into the dark stinky hole.
Being a fool
To me, the Fool embodies how I am perceived by those around me and reflects the treatment I have often received. Throughout my life, I have faced constant criticisms and unwanted advice that belittles me. I have been infantilized, talked down to, ignored, misunderstood, and abused in myriad ways. These experiences have made me feel unable to truly express my authentic self, forcing me to wear a mask, much like a clown, to avoid conflict and shield myself from further harm. As a result, I have often hidden away from the world, attempting to camouflage myself to blend in, or even wishing to become invisible altogether.
Being seen as a fool is a peculiar experience, as it intrinsically conveys that people perceive you as inadequate and consistently underestimate your abilities and potential. This perception often leads to being overlooked and dismissed, regardless of your true capabilities.
Moreover, possessing an unconventional mindset and being unable to conform to societal norms, driven by fear and subjugation under authoritarian rule, makes it difficult to respect the sinister mechanisms of an Orwellian state. Such a state stifles all that is illuminating and creative, extinguishing the very essence of innovation and imagination.
MY artwork is an interpretation of "The Fool" card from the major arcana of the tarot deck. It features a central figure dressed in red polka-dotted pants and a white shirt with a vest, standing confidently. The figure has a bright, sun-like halo around its head, symbolizing enlightenment and a new beginning. The figure holds a small white dog, representing loyalty and protection, while a green leafy growth emerges from the ground, symbolizing new life and potential.
In the background, there are many eyes watching the figure, suggesting the idea of being observed or guided by unseen forces. There is also a web-like structure and rays of light emanating from the top left corner, symbolizing interconnectedness and divine guidance. The right side of the image features an eye in a burst of light, further emphasizing the theme of insight and awareness.
Occult and Esoteric Representation
The Fool card is rich in symbolism and is often associated with new beginnings, potential, and the leap of faith. Esoterically, the Fool represents the soul's journey and the start of a spiritual quest. The eyes in the background could be seen as the presence of spiritual guides or the awareness of higher consciousness. The sun-like halo indicates enlightenment, suggesting that the Fool is on a path towards spiritual awakening.
The web symbolizes the interconnectedness of all things and the intricate nature of the journey the Fool is about to undertake. The eye in the burst of light from his hand, represents the third eye or inner vision, hinting at the importance of intuition and inner guidance on this journey.
The Fool and the Joker Archetype
The Fool and the Joker share several key attributes in their archetypal roles. Both figures are seen as tricksters, embodying chaos and unpredictability, and both possess a certain innocence or naivety that allows them to navigate the world with a sense of wonder and possibility. The Fool is open to new experiences and is willing to take risks, much like the Joker who disrupts norms and challenges the status quo.
Psychological Insights and my INFJ Jungian Archetype personality
In Jungian psychology, the Fool archetype can be linked to the process of individuation, where an individual embarks on a journey to integrate the different aspects of their psyche. For an INFJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging), this journey often involves deep introspection and a desire to find their true purpose.
INFJs are known for their vision and idealism, qualities that resonate with the Fool’s quest for enlightenment and new beginnings. The INFJ's intuitive nature aligns with the Fool's reliance on intuition and inner guidance. The challenge for an INFJ is to balance their idealism with the practicalities of the world, much like the Fool who must navigate the physical and spiritual realms.
Conclusion
My artwork captures the essence of the Fool card, blending rich symbolism with esoteric and psychological insights. The Fool's journey is one of new beginnings, guided by intuition and a sense of wonder. This archetype's connection to the INFJ personality highlights the deep, introspective nature of the journey and the quest for meaning and enlightenment. The Fool, much like the Joker, challenges norms and embraces the unknown, embodying a timeless quest for self-discovery and spiritual growth.
Dark story of the fool
In a forgotten corner of the world, where reality bent and twisted like a madman’s grin, lived a young man known simply as the Fool. With sun-bright hair and mismatched clothes, the Fool was the very picture of naivety and boundless optimism. He set off one morning, a song in his heart and a small, loyal dog at his heels, eager to discover the world's strange and wondrous delights.
As fate would have it, the Fool's journey took an unexpected and rather unsanitary turn when he stumbled upon a sleeping giant. Thinking he was about to climb two rolling hills with a cozy valley in between, the Fool confidently marched forward. Little did he realize, he was walking straight into the giant’s enormous, unwiped rectum. With a slip and a squelch, the Fool was sucked into a bizarre and grotesque underworld of the giant’s innards.
His first encounter in this fleshy labyrinth was with a charming rogue known as "Sleight-of-Hand Sam," a Magician whose tricks were as slippery as eels in oil. The Fool, eyes wide and mind open, fell for Sam’s dazzling displays of sorcery. When Sam offered to show him the secrets of the universe, the Fool accepted with the eagerness of a child offered candy, unaware he was being led into a maze of illusions and half-truths.
Deeper into this twisted gut, the path grew darker and more treacherous. The Fool tripped over a pulsating vein and found himself face-to-face with "Topsy-Turvy Tom," the Hanged Man, who dangled from a sinewy tendril like a warped piñata. Tom, grinning upside down, spoke in riddles about sacrifice and seeing the world from a skewed angle. The Fool, ever the literal thinker, attempted to hang from a fibrous root by his feet, only to tumble headfirst into a pool of digestive fluids, much to the amusement of a passing rat who cackled like a hyena and flicked a turd at him.
Undeterred by nettle stings and bruises, the Fool continued his journey until he stumbled into a peculiar chamber. There, he met a mysterious figure cloaked in crimson, known only as "The Red Cloak." The Red Cloak, with an air of dark, enticing charm, ran "Temptations Tavern," a den of iniquity where the booze was cheap, the drugs were potent, and the vices plentiful. The Fool, thinking it a place of jolly camaraderie, plunged headfirst into debauchery, dancing and drinking with abandon as sinister whispers curled around him like smoke.
“Come, my innocent friend,” purred The Red Cloak, his eyes gleaming from beneath the hood, “indulge in the pleasures of the flesh, taste the forbidden fruits.” The Fool, trusting as ever, was led into a dimly lit room where The Lovers awaited—figures of seductive cruelty, whose sweet caresses masked a thousand sharp knives. They whispered promises that turned to ashes and left kisses that felt like burns, draining the Fool of his vitality while he remained blissfully unaware.
In the haze of this carnal labyrinth, The Red Cloak presented the Fool with a shimmering vial. “Drink this, and your mind will open to the wonders of the cosmos,” he said with a sly wink. The Fool, seeking enlightenment, gulped it down eagerly. His world erupted into a kaleidoscope of terror; faces melted and morphed, revealing the grotesque masks of malevolence that lay beneath. Paranoia seized him as he glimpsed the dark souls of those around him, their hidden sins exposed. The Fool saw people as they truly were—rotten, twisted creatures with festering secrets and gaping maws where their faces should be.
The Fool fled the tavern, his mind a tempest of nightmarish visions. He crashed through the chamber like a marionette cut from its strings, haunted by the cruel laughter of The Lovers and the sardonic smirk of The Red Cloak. In his delirium, he stumbled back into the winding gut where Topsy-Turvy Tom awaited, still dangling like a bat.
"Back so soon?" Tom chuckled, his upside-down face strangely comforting amidst the chaos. “Seen the world for what it truly is, have you?”
The Fool, shaking but somehow unbroken, nodded. He had been deceived, used, and nearly destroyed by the very temptations that once seemed so inviting. Yet, in his trials, he discovered a flicker of inner light, a resilient flame that refused to be extinguished.
As he prepared to leave, the cruel women, now spiteful and rejected, leveled false accusations against him, trying to condemn him with twisted lies. Their voices were shrill daggers, but the Fool stood firm, his inner light blazing. The truth shone through their fabrications, burning away the deceit like morning mist. The denizens of the fleshy realm, seeing the purity of the Fool’s spirit, turned their judgmental gaze upon The Lovers and The Red Cloak, who slunk away like shadows banished by the dawn.
With newfound wisdom and a heart still brimming with hope, the Fool walked onward. He was wiser now, aware of the darkness lurking beneath life’s veneer, yet his spirit remained unbroken. The world was a place of both wonder and danger, but he knew he could navigate its treacherous paths with the light of his resilient soul guiding him.
And so, the Fool continued his surreal journey, ever the eternal optimist in a twisted world, his steps marked by dark humor, unhinged wisdom, and the lingering scent of the giant's digestive tract.
The End
